Dr. Gina Giancola, DC is a graduate of Life University in Marietta, Georgia. She brings 24 years of experience to SportsMed. Prior to joining the SportsMed team, “Dr. G” had a private practice for 22 years in Essex County, NJ. During that time, she worked closely with surgeons, primary care physicians and physical therapists in her area. She served as the chiropractic consultant for Montclair State University athletics and for the New Jersey Devils Youth Hockey Organization. In 2019, Dr. Giancola obtained her certification as a surgical neurophysiologist where she monitored brain and nerve function during complicated spinal surgeries.
Becoming a chiropractor was especially meaningful for Dr. Giancola after having a left ACL repair when she was 15 years old due to a sports injury. Chiropractic care helped to balance out her spine, alleviate muscle tension in her back from her gait being off balance, and allowed her to speed up her recovery and get back to optimal health and function.
Dr. Giancola’s goal is to provide long-term pain relief and optimal health for all of her patients by identifying the underlying cause of their pain by using patient education, spinal adjustments, soft tissue work, and corrective exercise.
