Some knowledgeable staff but a lot of distractions with therapists socializing instead of paying attention to patients and making patients wait until conversations unrelated to work are done. There is an acupuncturist on site who is excellent but her office is within the patient area and some of the staff are so loud it’s virtually impossible to relax. I would go there for the acupuncturist only if she was able to practice in peace.

I have been going to SportsMed in Montclair NJ for both physical therapy and acupuncture for over a year for several different issues. The acupuncturist, Dr Kim, is knowlegable, skillful, and effective for relieving muscle pain and migraine headaches. I've been to other acupuncturists over the past twenty years, and I compare those experiences with Dr Kim's treatment. For physical therapy, I have been treated by Jonathan, Sweta, and Nishita with happy results. Jonathan explains treatments very clearly, Nishita's exercises had quick results, and Sweta is an excellent diagnostician and whole-body healer. The chiropractor there, Dr Gina, has treated me just a few times, but when she did, her treatment was quickly effective. Because of the team there, I am much recovered with lasting pain relief. I have a broken shoulder. I started about 4 weeks ago at sportsmed in Montclair. I’m going 3x’s a week l. I am starting to see good improvement on my arm mobility. The therapists are excellent and caring, the staff is nice and the space is bright with lots of windows. So far I am very pleased. It’s hard work but it’s worth it.

They achieve everything a physical therapy establishment should achieve and more. Let’s start with the physical therapists. They are seasoned, very knowledgeable, compassionate and super helpfull.The assistants are also very professional and knowledgeable and work very hard to make sure all patients at any given time are efficiently brought through their exercise and therapy protocol and work super hard to make sure everything flows efficiently and that all patients have the necessary tools they need for their therapy. All staff from the front desk to everyone on the PT floor are super friendly and make you feel right at home. The physical therapist I worked with from the start was Sweta and she really clinched the deal for me from day one. She walked me through every exercise step-by-step, explaining what I was doing, and how it was going to help me and has been guiding me every step of the way in future sessions. She’s always available for me to answer questions, get clarification or instruction on what to do at home to continue my therapy. Also a shout out to Johnathan, PT,A, who has been stepping in from time to time to do my manual therapy protocol and always helps and offers assistance with my exercises and form while doing so. I could go on, but let’s suffice it to say it’s been an incredible experience. I’m getting better every day and I am so very thankful for Sweta and the entire staff at Sportsned!! One last comment, when I was researching which PT place to go to I noticed there were both positive and negative comments for Sportsmed Montclair. There were comments made that things were disorganized, and there wasn’t enough privacy for the patients. That has changed. Every client is treated individually. There are curtains around each area for privacy. This location does get quite busy at times but it’s still seems to run smoothly and all of the PT and assistants work together to make sure everything is taken care of and running smoothly. People also make comments that the chiropractors and acupuncturist on staff we’re being bothersome in trying to solicit their services. I found all of them to be pleasant. I did choose to have a few acupuncture sessions. No one is forcing you to do anything. I find it a big plus that these other services are available if one needs the additional support to get out of pain or help fix their Problems. So no complaint from me. Thanks for listening. !

My therapists at Sports Med Physical Therapy are absolutely first rate. They have helped me tremendously. I encourage anyone with back or knee problems to use these experts as your go to place!
