Benefits of Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)

Some of the key benefits of IASTM performed by chiropractors:

1. Breaks Down Scar Tissue & Adhesions

  • Helps release fascial restrictions and break up scar tissue caused by injury, overuse, or surgery.

  • Restores proper tissue mobility and flexibility.

2. Reduces Pain & Inflammation

  • Promotes circulation and lymphatic drainage, helping decrease pain, swelling, and muscle tightness.

  • Often used for chronic pain and repetitive strain injuries.

3. Speeds Up Healing

  • Stimulates the body’s natural healing response by increasing blood flow to injured tissues.

  • Aids in faster recovery from sprains, strains, and soft tissue damage.

4. Improves Range of Motion & Flexibility

  • Loosens tight muscles and fascia to enhance joint mobility.

  • Especially helpful for athletes or individuals recovering from orthopedic injuries.

5. Complements Other Chiropractic Techniques

  • Works well alongside adjustments, stretching, and rehab exercises to support overall treatment goals.

  • Can be tailored to target specific muscles or problem areas.
