Benefits of Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy

Pelvic floor physical therapy offers a wide range of benefits for people of all ages and genders, addressing both muscle dysfunction and support for internal organs in the pelvic region. Here are the key benefits:

1. Improves Bladder & Bowel Control

Helps treat urinary incontinence, urgency, frequency, and fecal incontinence by strengthening or relaxing pelvic floor muscles, restoring proper function and control.

2. Supports Pregnancy & Postpartum Recovery

Assists with pelvic pain, diastasis recti, labor preparation, and post-birth healing. It can improve core stability and help manage prolapse or scar tissue discomfort after childbirth or C-section.

3. Relieves Pelvic Pain

Effective in treating pelvic floor tension, vaginismus, endometriosis-related pain, and pain with intercourse through gentle manual therapy, stretches, and relaxation techniques.

4. Enhances Core Strength & Stability

The pelvic floor is part of the core system. Therapy can improve posture, balance, and movement efficiency, reducing strain on the hips, back, and abdominal muscles.
