Neurological Rehabilitation can be for many conditions. Some of the most common forms of care we see needed for Neuro patients are Strength Training, Balance Conditions, Nerve Damage, and Sciatica. Here at SportsMed we pride ourselves on our 1-on-1 approach to your care and understand how important the care we provide is to help you or your loved one get back to the life you deserve. What Can You Expect from our neurological rehabilitation services? On your first appointment, you will meet with a physical therapist that specializes in your neurological rehab needs. This will ensure you are receiving the best care we can provide. If you are a post-surgical patient or have a prescription from your referring doctor, your physical therapist will review your doctor’s requests. Your physical therapist will then ask you a series of questions to help us understand where you currently are in your rehab process. Along with these questions, your therapist will do a series of physical tests to understand your current strength, range of motion, and pain levels. Based on the above evaluation, your physical therapist will discuss your future treatment plan, how long you will have to come to therapy, and what you can expect over that time frame. You will have the opportunity to ask as many questions as you need, to feel comfortable about the road ahead and to understand your neurological rehabilitation treatment plan. For those patients that are having trouble with your Gait (walking pattern), we encourage you to take a few minutes to watch the above video on our amazing AlterG, Anti-Gravity Treadmill. These treadmills are nothing short of miraculous. We have so many outstanding success stories from our neurological patients that have benefited from a safe and secure environment to improve and strengthen their gait. This amazing treadmill acts just like a pool, by decreasing the amount of body weight impacting your lower extremities, giving SportsMed the ability to help you gain strength and proper body mechanics no matter how difficult it may seem. These NASA developed treadmills are used by Nationally Ranked Hospitals and the most prestigious health institutes in the World. You deserve the best when it comes to your rehab, and that is why we have three of these amazing machines.
