Dr. Brendan Kirk, PT, DPT, OCS obtained his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). He is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), a designation which only 7% of physical therapists in the US hold. He is also a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP), a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and has experience with coaching, group fitness, and personal training. He has spent his career in outpatient orthopaedics, treating the full spectrum of age groups and diagnoses. He enjoys treating post-surgical patients, sports injuries, balance/vestibular issues, neck and back pain, trauma injuries, and everything in between. Brendan utilizes a hands-on and full-body treatment approach with his patients. You are not “just another number,” as you will be listened to, cared for, and treated with an individualized plan of care. Each patient has unique goals – and it is the responsibility of the therapist/patient team to work towards them together. He has extensive experience with myofascial release, trigger points, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, and many other manual therapy techniques to maximize your outcome. As a lifelong athlete and exerciser himself, he develops a personalized therapeutic exercise routine for his patients from his own seemingly endless database to create a comprehensive and evidence-based plan of care. When not in the clinic, you can usually find him and his wife running together around Bergen County on a Saturday morning, skiing in the winter, reading a book on the beach in the summer, or spending time with family.
