Bernadette Gumiran, PT obtained her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (master’s equivalent). She has over 8 years of experience as a physical therapist, including in skilled nursing facilities in New York and Connecticut. She has excellent evaluation and treatment skills in geriatrics; orthopedic conditions such as joint replacements, fractures and other orthopedic repairs and surgeries; neurological conditions such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, GBS, Parkinson’s disease; cardiovascular conditions; musculoskeletal conditions such low back pain, neck pain, strain, sprain, impingement syndromes, arthritis, athletic injuries; balance and falls; and psychological conditions such as dementia. Bernadette finds her work as a physical therapist fulfilling as she can observe first hand patients improving in function, achieving their goals, and obtaining the best quality of life. Bernadette is gentle and kind with her patients, which allows her to create a safe and comfortable space where they can feel free to talk about what’s on their mind. They have shared many concerns with her, including having trouble sleeping, back pain, and trouble starting their days. She has listened carefully while they explain their circumstances, then she has helped them develop treatment plans that will improve their lives. In her free time, Bernadette enjoys arts and crafts, badminton, and reading.
