Hand and Wrist Pain

physical_therapy_wrist_pain_and_handsHand or wrist injuries can really be detrimental to your health. They are common with most recreational activities but it is possible to injure your hand during a day to day task as well. A wrist and hand injury can range from a minor sprain to severe fracture and so much more. The pain could come from the ligaments in the hand, the muscles, the joints and other related areas as well. You also need to be aware of repetitive strain injuries and strain syndrome as well, as this is very common with those who work on computers and in grocery stores.

How It Works

Physical therapy can help by first finding out what the problem is. Once the source of the problem has been found, you can then try and modify the work station accordingly as well as putting other things into place that will help to prevent the injury from happening again. Our talented therapists will begin by identifying the cause of the pain during an initial evaluation. They may also ask you questions that relate to your daily activities and your lifestyle. If your hand was injured through a trauma or another serious condition then your therapist may need to talk with your doctor to make sure that the treatment provided is suitable for your needs, ensuring that your health is our number one priority at all times.

Normally our physical therapy sessions don’t last over an hour and most of the time they are significantly less but it does depend on the type of injury that you have and the circumstances that are present. Some patients may only need a couple of sessions but others may need longer and more extensive sessions in order for them to feel the maximum results.
